WHAT IS OUR GOAL?
We want to concentrate on the goal “Quality of Education” by restoring an abandoned library at the Picasso Orphanage in Thủ Đức and filling up the shelves with donations from book drives.
The Picasso Orphanage has over 90 children and a mid-sized library but the children do not have access to books that can provide quality education because the space is broken down and worn out. So, we want to supply a range of educational books for all ages - both reading books and academic publications. We will purchase a few kindles and furnish a neat, comfortable, and productive learning environment.

WHO IS INVOLVED?
Ms. Hannah Thomas
SUPERVISOR & MENTOR
The Powerpuff Girls have been absolutely inspirational this year.
They have worked incredibly hard on Shelves of Hope, despite their busy IB schedules and involvement in many other activities in and out of school. They have demonstrated strong resilience in dealing with issues as they arise both in this project and their personal lives during this time, always striving to achieve their goals.
The girls show a genuine care for their local community and have hosted multiple successful fund raising events for the cause. They involved the wider community in these events, being supported by the school community and involving children from the orphanage in their music nights, with touching performances and a speech from the orphanage's librarian.
I firmly believe that this team have made a large impact on this community and have lead social change through the consideration of the UN's Sustainable development goals, making a big difference to the lives of all children at the Picasso Orphanage, that now have a safe, comfortable space to read and learn thanks to this team.
Not only did they demonstrate strong leadership, great organisation and enthusiasm during this project, but are also committed to continuing their work with the Picasso Orphanage through further projects in the future, outside of the GSL competition. Overall, i am very impressed and extremely proud to have these students in my life.
Well done Ladies!
